One square metre

Here's what I've wondered about today...

Why when we have more than one room in our house, indeed there are several and a backyard, does Rambo #1 and Rambo #2 (AKA son and 7 and son age 4.8) refuse to play further than a metre away from each other.
Sometimes this works well. Very well. I love to overhear bizarre, hilarious and endearing conversations between my boys.

Sometimes it goes dramatically wrong.
Teasing, niggling, tears, screams and so it goes.
I dare to suggest one goes to play in another area of the house.
Then they unite to cry "no way."

So I take myself to time out, wander out to check the letterbox, pick at a few weeds, where the yelling can be barely heard. Wander back in and hope there is no blood.

For no good reason...

For absolutely no good reason,
None what so ever,
(okay so maybe I’m trying to avoid the housework)

I’ve started a Blog.

It still amazes me that with virtually no computer skills, if you don’t count knowing how to download fonts, I can start a Blog with a few tap, taps on the keyboard.

So here’s what I’m wondering today as I stare at a receipt for $65.00 for books I never knew I needed a day ago. And now I have them, I'm still not sure I need them.

Why is it that the words ‘ONE DAY ONLY SALE’ are like grains of sand in the knickers of my bathers…I can’t ignore them, I’ve just got to do something about it. Hmm, I barter with myself…’I’ll just go to look’.

I bundle up two little boys and drive 30 minutes to an overcrowded warehouse. The boys argue, whine and grouch, I shop like I don’t know them, say "yes" to Rambo #1 (oldest son) to buy a Christmas book (the second most expensive item at the sale!) and a kite, the checkout lady says "that’ll be $65" I try to act like I am not shocked and poof I’m home cursing for believing my own lie; 'just looking' – as if.
